As part of our Members Evening this week, Tom Knowles introduced a new idea which could benefit every member of the club. How? Critique.
The Idea to Benefit Everyone
Tom’s idea was to offer critique sessions where members would provide photographs for supportive, positive and constructive feedback. This could help members improve their skills further by understanding more about what to look for instinctively when reviewing their photographs. It would help them see which areas of their photograph are strong and what to be aware of. Also, this could help with showing what may help to strengthen their photographs further. Initially, Tom will provide an example of a positive critique to demonstrate how positive and constructive this can be. Using the talent that we have within the Club we will be looking to invite others to provide these critiques. To help with this process Tom will supply flashcards as an aide-memoire.
Everyone can benefit from this and improve their understanding, what to look for and how to further enhance photographs. This is aimed at all levels of photographer. Whether you have never entered a competition, a beginner looking to improve or an accomplished photographer, this is for you. We can all learn, expand and help each other improve. We will be announcing when this will be introduced to members shortly.
In addition, we talked about ideas, discussed projects and shared some of our knowledge with others. Martin Try discussed his activities using ultraviolet light. All of this made for an interesting and stimulating evening.
