Looking at Prints and PDI were the subjects this week. With the competition season about to start at the Club. Presenting your work in the best manner is an important task in convincing a judge of a worthy score. This can be daunting if you have not done it before, or not competed on a regular basis. Adrian Court, Mike Kirby and Doug Murrie, our 2018 winners, shared their knowledge on what to do. It was a really informative and interactive talk where some of our more knowledgable members also supported sharing their expertise.
Preparing PDI and Uploading
Firstly, Adrian Court went through the preparation of PDI images and how to upload these for competitions. Resizing of the image and adding a keyline was covered. In addition,
members were reminded of the naming convention. Adrian also explained that there have been some changes, with two additional competitions now using the Upload Form. Printing an Image
Next, Mike Kirby discussed Prints and printing. Mike demonstrated ‘Printing an image’ and the nuances involved with this. Furthermore, Mike has offered members to print their images for the Print Competitions if they would like. Which is a really a kind gesture. Mounting a Print
Lastly, Doug Murrie covered the intricacies of Mounting a Print and the options available. Doug detailed out the items required to mount a print, the options available, the rough costs and suppliers of these. He covered everything from; Mount board options, adhesives, backing boards through to mounting tape. There was some really good advice shared by members around they mount their prints as well.
