POTY? Yes, POTY, which actually for anyone not linked with the Club means Photographer of the Year. Well, for the last time this year we challenged ourselves with entering our best images for the final round of this competition. The judge this week was Keith Long ARPS.  This was Keith’s last competition before retiring from judging.

Our SET subject this month was ‘Cold’ and there were many different interpretations of this. We had everything from snowy scenes to a ‘Foxglove in Ice’. And Keith deemed this the winning image for SET subject, so congratulations to John Credland scoring top marks. This was a great example of a frozen bloom in ice.

Keith is known for his tough but fair marking so we only had a few 20’s awarded in the evening.  In fact, there were only another two top marks awarded. Firstly, Andrew Nobbs for his entry titled ‘Autumnal Shadows Of Summers Beauty’. This was another bloom although captured with its shadow. And secondly, Doug Murrie for his shot from the Oxford Half Marathon this year of a participant in the pouring rain titled ‘Determination’.

POTY Winning Images

Below are all the winning images from this competition.  Congratulations to everyone for making this year’s POTY a great success and hard-fought battle.
