This week’s Practical Evening was around ‘The Visual Battlefield’.  The aim of the evening was to stimulate the mind and give some ideas for the upcoming Photographer of The Year Competition. Next week’s competition’s topic is ‘The Visual Battlefield’ which will be judged by Colin Harrison FRPS FIPF FBPE MFIAP MPAGB EFIAP/p MPSA APAGB.

There were a number of tables set up, which included flashing lights displays, oil and water, still-life and even a simulated battlefield. The battlefield was so realistic that it filled the hall with smoke and fumes! The room was packed with members relishing the challenge of photographing in low light situations and being creative.  Lots of long exposures, zooming in and out and trying to focus in the dark (which is somewhat challenging!).

Thanks to the members that brought in items to enhance and add to a Visual Battlefield theme.  It was great to see lots of people trying to help and support others throughout the evening!
