At last night’s Graden Party the subjects were announced for this year’s ‘Versatility Challenge’. This contest is to find the most versatile photographer. The winner will receive free membership for the following year and will also judge the competition in 2020. Adrian Court was the winner last year and has set the five different subjects this year.
These follow a theme, which is….the iconic rides of Walt Disney World. You need to submit an image for each of these to reflect the title and/or ride theme. Remind Adrian of the ride or better still submit your best shot of the ride. Bonus points may even be awarded for this feat!
Versatility Subjects
The following are the subjects for this year’s competition:
It’s a Small World – This ride was first created in 1964 for the New York World’s Fair. It was subsequently moved to Disneyland in Anaheim and has been recreated in every Disney park since then. Even if you haven’t been to Disney, you will know the song!
Pirates of the Caribbean – Yo ho yo ho, a Pirates life for me. This swashbuckling boat ride opened in Anaheim in 1967 and versions of it are at all the Disney parks. A definite classic, and a must-ride for all ages.
Spaceship Earth – This is the gateway to Epcot Center in Florida, a slow-moving ride charting communication through history and into the future. It sits at the entrance of the park, within the giant Epcot “golfball”, an iconic sight.
Expedition Everest – The Himalayas beckon in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, specifically Everest. This ride is a fast-moving mine train taking you backwards and forwards through the forbidden mountain dodging the fearsome Yeti.
Toy Story Mania – This carnival games style ride opened in Disney Studios, Florida back in 2008. This ride still has some of the longest queues anywhere in the parks. It takes riders on a wild ride to play 3D shoot ‘em up games with help from the characters from Toy Story.
